Paris 2024 Olympic & Paralympic Games Candidature Bid Submitted
06The Paris 2024 Organising Committee has shared its concept of a ‘Made for Sharing’ Games, officially kicking off the final phase of bidding for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The official submission documents, which were submitted on Friday 3rd February, include the final plan demonstrating the powerful relationship between each of the 38 host venues and their surrounding environs, within this iconic global city. Particular focus has been paid to security and spectator safety, sustainability and Games legacy, including public transport links, broadcast compounds, fields of play, and of course the athletes’ and international federations’ facilities.
With a global Populous team led by Populous global Chair Jerry Anderson, François Clement, Michael Halchak, Soaad Islam and Ben Vickery, a hugely successful year-long continuous dialogue between the Paris 2024 Organising Committee, Populous, Egis, and the national and international Olympic sporting federations has resulted in a proposed scheme with a clear strategy towards the feasibility and legacy of each venue, and the Games as a whole. Populous and Egis have previously collaborated on the Grand Stade FFR, and are currently undertaking design work for a 10,000-capacity arena in Tremblay, Paris.
Populous Principal François Clement said, “Paris will be at the heart of an inspiring celebration of sport, to be shared with and excite the next generation.”
