To design an arena that re-energized the Kansas City urban experience and validated the city as home to some of the best sports architects in the world, Populous served as Architect of Record for a local four-firm group that designed T-Mobile Center. The arena features a 360-degree glass façade that creates an ever-changing tapestry of reflective light. Intentionally transparent, T-Mobile Center gives outsiders peeks into the arena. Since opening in 2007, it has hosted a multitude of concerts, shows, athletics and collegiate basketball tournaments, including events for both men’s and women’s Big 12 basketball.
